About Quadila Festival

Quadila Festival is an itinerant cultural event that travels every summer through the seven municipalities of the Lower Monferrato hills, straddling the provinces of Turin and Asti. The festival’s heart beats in Albugnano, home to the organizing association Lo Stagno di Goethe ETS; it is here that the preview takes place on June 12th and 13th, 2026, and where the famous Belvedere returns each year as a natural stage. The sixth edition, titled "Paths of Sense," invites visitors to rediscover experience through all the senses, featuring sensory paths in the dark, night treks, civic theatre, and conviviality. All events are free with mandatory reservation.

Quadila Festival in Albugnano

The Quadila Festival is an itinerant cultural event that brings the Lower Monferrato hills to life every summer, spanning the provinces of Turin and Asti. Albugnano, a small town in the province of Asti overlooking one of the most panoramic viewpoints in Piedmont, is the base for the association Lo Stagno di Goethe ETS, the creator and organizational heart of the entire event. From here, the festival winds through seven municipalities—Albugnano, Casalborgone, Aramengo, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Cerreto d'Asti, Pino d'Asti, and Berzano San Pietro—bringing performances, concerts, theatrical walks, and sensory experiences to the most evocative locations in the area.

The Sixth Edition: "Paths of Sense"

The 2026 edition, the sixth of the festival, revolves around the theme "Paths of Sense": an invitation to rediscover the sensory dimension of human experience, moving beyond the primacy of sight to rediscover hearing, touch, taste, and smell. The festival kicks off with a preview entirely dedicated to Albugnano (and the nearby hamlet of Mondonio) on June 12th and 13th, 2026, before continuing with the main program spread across the seven municipalities from July 9th to 26th, 2026.

The June 12-13 Preview in Albugnano

The opening weekend in Albugnano alternates sensory experiences, walking, and theatre:

  • Friday, June 12, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Sala Nilde Iotti: A sensory path in the dark curated by U.N.I.Vo.C. of Cuneo, divided into four stations dedicated to residual senses, aimed at raising awareness about visual impairment.
  • Friday, June 12, 9:00 PM - Piazza Serra: Evening urban trek with nature guide Lucia Cane and actor Diego Coscia, featuring a bocce lesson, a walk in the woods towards the Abbey of Vezzolano, and readings from Borges and Saramago.
  • Saturday, June 13, 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM - Sala Camilla Serafino: Workshop and awards ceremony for the "Mark Ricard Mariut" Prize for youths aged 10 to 15, with the public presentation "My Passion."
  • Saturday, June 13, 6:00 PM - Mondonio: Historical itinerary "Hillside Schools and Churches" with historian Graziella Deideri, visiting the small school of Mondonio, the museum of rural life, and Cascina Gilli with a wine tasting.
  • Saturday, June 13, 9:30 PM - Courtyard of the Romanesque church of Santa Maria di Cornareto: Theatrical performance "Amatissima - A Recited Lesson" by and with Anna Delfina Arcostanzo.

The Belvedere, a Natural Stage

One of the symbolic locations of the festival in Albugnano is its Belvedere, a panoramic terrace that dominates the Monferrato hills and has hosted high-profile evening concerts and shows over the years. It is here that the Quadila Festival presents its most anticipated musical events, in a setting that combines landscape, culture, and live music under the stars.

A Festival Spread Across the Landscape

Albugnano is the hub of a cultural project that turns the Monferrato hills into a widespread stage. The evenings of the Quadila Festival are held in open-air locations and historical spaces across the various municipalities, guiding the audience through an experience that combines gentle hiking, local food and wine, and live performance. The itinerant format allows visitors to discover villages, Romanesque churches, and panoramic views of the Asti province that are otherwise rarely visited.

Admission and Reservations

All festival events are free to attend, with voluntary donations welcomed to support the festival, but mandatory reservation is required for each activity. Reservations can be made via the official website quadila.com and via WhatsApp at the number provided by the organization. For the most popular evenings, such as those at the Belvedere, it is advisable to book well in advance.
