Puncetto Day — Al dì dal Puncet was created to celebrate and pass on this ancient lace, crafted exclusively with a needle using a knotted stitch technique, without any preparatory drawing. It is a festive day that attracts enthusiasts, collectors, and curious visitors from across the region.

What is Valsesian puncetto?

Puncetto is a lace worked stitch by stitch, traditionally white, used to embellish aprons, bonnets, shawls, and the famous traditional costumes of the valley. In Fobello, this art is particularly vibrant: the village is home to the Puncetto Museum and the Carestia Tirozzo Museum at Campelli, which house historic lace, costumes, and testaments to Valsesian culture.

The day's program

Throughout Sunday, the streets and squares of the historic center, particularly along Via Lancia and the theater area, come alive with a large market exhibition dedicated to puncetto and local crafts. Visitors can watch the lacemakers at work, admire displays of antique and contemporary lace, and meet with associations and collectors.
