About Music Festival

Every June 21st, the Pulsano Music Festival celebrates the European Music Day on the scenic Montedarena seafront in Marina di Pulsano. Promoted by the local Municipality and the Pro Loco as part of the national UNPLI circuit and the Ministry of Culture, the event brings live music to the seaside with free sunset concerts dedicated to the greatest hits of Italian singer-songwriters. It is a simple, authentic gathering open to both locals and tourists, where the audience takes center stage in a relaxed, informal summer atmosphere.

The Music Festival in Pulsano

Every year on June 21st, Pulsano joins the widespread celebration that marks European Music Day across the continent. In this town in the province of Taranto, Puglia, the Music Festival does not take place in the historic center, but rather in one of the most beloved spots on the coast: the Montedarena seafront in Marina di Pulsano. Here, as the sun begins to dip over the Ionian Sea, live music transforms the beach into a natural open-air stage.

Montedarena, the stage by the sea

The choice of Montedarena is no coincidence. This stretch of coastline, with its golden sand and crystal-clear waters, is the tourist heart of the Pulsano summer. Hosting the Music Festival here means combining two of the region's most precious assets: the marine landscape and the tradition of popular music. The public is invited to participate in a simple, convivial way, bringing a beach towel and enjoying the concerts directly on the sand in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

The program and artists

The highlight of the event is the Sunset Concert, organized by Pro Loco Pulsano. The evenings are dedicated to the great repertoire of Italian singer-songwriters: performers such as Armando Carrera and Luca Sauli have showcased the finest works of the artists who shaped the history of our country's popular music. The format is one of intimate, focused listening, with no barriers between the artists and the audience. In recent years, the day has also been enriched by tourist hospitality initiatives, such as the inauguration of the visitor information desk.

A national circuit event

The Pulsano Music Festival is part of the national program promoted by UNPLI – the Italian National Union of Pro Loco and the Ministry of Culture. It is a network that, every June 21st, brings thousands of squares, villages, and coastlines across Italy to life with free concerts open to everyone, in the original spirit of the French Fête de la Musique. In Pulsano, this event has become a way to showcase the local area and involve the community in a high-quality, completely free experience.

Pulsano and its coastline

A town overlooking the Gulf of Taranto, Pulsano is known for its beaches, coves, and the Mediterranean scrub that characterizes its coast. The Music Festival is part of a rich summer calendar of events that animate Marina di Pulsano and Montedarena from June to September, offering residents and tourists opportunities to connect with culture, nature, and tradition. Participating means discovering the authentic and hospitable soul of this corner of the Ionian Puglia.
