In the heart of winter, when Carnival brings color to the towns of Piedmont, the Pro Loco San Colombano organizes its traditional masquerade event in Briga Novarese. The gathering takes place at the Centro Polifunzionale in the Prato delle Gere region, which for an entire day transforms into a meeting point for the entire community of this small town in the Province of Novara, Piedmont.
A Two-Part Day
The format chosen by the Pro Loco is a double event, designed to engage both young and old. The afternoon is dedicated to children and families: entertainment, music, games, and inflatables turn the Centro Polifunzionale into a joyful masquerade party, complete with a Carnival snack offered by the Pro Loco San Colombano volunteers.
The evening is reserved for the grand Carnival Dinner, one of the event's highlights. The Pro Loco chefs prepare a traditional menu inspired by Italian masks, accompanied by the essential Carnival sweets. A dedicated menu is available for children, allowing families to enjoy the evening together.

The table is the true star of the dinner, with a menu that plays on the names of the characters from the Commedia dell'Arte:

L'edizione 2026 del Carnevale con la Pro Loco si è svolta sabato 22 febbraio al Centro Polifunzionale di Briga Novarese. La giornata ha unito due momenti distinti pensati per l'intera comunità.
Alle ore 14:00 è iniziata la festa dedicata a bambini e famiglie, con animazione, musica, giochi e gonfiabili e la merenda di Carnevale offerta dai volontari della Pro Loco San Colombano. Alle ore 20:00 è seguita la Cena di Carnevale.
Programme Pro Loco Carnival Briga 2026
Ore 14:00 - Festa di Carnevale per bambini e famiglie: animazione, musica, giochi e gonfiabili, con merenda offerta dalla Pro Loco.

How to get there
By car: Briga Novarese is accessible via the A26 motorway (Borgomanero exit), in the lower Cusio-Novarese area. By train: the reference station is Borgomanero, a few kilometers away, on the Novara-Domodossola line.
When
The event takes place during the Carnival period, between late February and early March. The children's party is held in the afternoon, and the Carnival Dinner in the evening.

The Carnival Dinner requires a reservation: for information and bookings, it is recommended to contact the Pro Loco San Colombano or the Municipality of Briga Novarese.
