The concert series by the Pro Loco Città di Giugliano
The Primavera Musicale is the concert season promoted by the Pro Loco Città di Giugliano, a local association dedicated to promoting the territory of Giugliano in Campania, in the province of Naples. Every year, between May and June, the festival accompanies the Giugliano spring with a series of musical events held in the heart of the city, along Corso Campano, which have become a benchmark for local music lovers over the years.
In 2026, Primavera Musicale reached the milestone of its tenth edition, confirming the continuity of a cultural project deeply rooted in the community. Artistic direction is entrusted to Maestro Domenico di Gioia, a flutist and driving force of the local music scene. The festival took place in conjunction with the city's celebrations in honor of Maria Santissima della Pace, while maintaining its own distinct identity entirely dedicated to live music.
The concert calendar alternates between different genres and ensembles. The 2026 edition opened with the Trio L'Eco di Pan and the "Doppler Effect" program, dedicated to the compositional virtuosity of A. F. Doppler, featuring flutists Annalisa Freda and Domenico di Gioia alongside pianist Keith Goodman. The festival also featured jazz performances and evenings dedicated to Neapolitan song, such as the tribute "The Naples of Pino Daniele" performed by a musical ensemble from the Liceo Cirillo in Aversa. The program thus blends classical music, popular repertoires, and the promotion of young local performers.
Concerts are held within the former Chiesa della Maddalena, at Corso Campano 213, a place steeped in history that transforms into a concert hall during the warmer months. Throughout May and June, the space remains open to the public from Monday to Friday, offering an opportunity to rediscover a valuable building of the city's heritage.
Primavera Musicale is part of the activities planned by the Pro Loco Città di Giugliano, which has seen growing community participation over the years. Through this festival, the association contributes to spreading musical culture in Campania and making a high-quality program accessible to a wide audience in a city that represents one of the main centers in the province of Naples.
The tenth edition of the festival, promoted by the Pro Loco Città di Giugliano, enlivened the city's spring with a series of concerts in the former Chiesa della Maddalena, on Corso Campano. Artistic direction was curated by Maestro Domenico di Gioia. The program took place in conjunction with the festivities in honor of Maria Santissima della Pace, while maintaining its own autonomous musical identity.
