The historic literary award dedicated to women's writing
In Rapallo, in the Gulf of Tigullio, province of Genoa, the Premio Rapallo BPER Banca is one of the Italian literary awards exclusively dedicated to female authors. Promoted by the City of Rapallo in collaboration with BPER Banca, the award celebrates the best female voices in contemporary Italian literature.
The award is divided into two sections: fiction, with a prize of 5,000 euros, and non-fiction and essays, with a prize of 3,000 euros. Works published in Italian from the previous autumn are eligible, submitted by publishing houses by the deadline set in the call for entries.
The award ceremony is held in Rapallo and attracts female writers, publishers, critics, and readers. The award represents a significant cultural event for the Riviera di Levante, capable of combining the promotion of reading with the valorisation of the territory.
For 2026, the Premio Rapallo BPER Banca reaches its 5th edition: submissions from publishing houses are open until August 20, 2026, and the final ceremony will be held on November 7, 2026, in Rapallo. Prizes will be awarded for the fiction section (5,000 euros) and the non-fiction and essays section (3,000 euros), reserved for the best Italian female authors with works published from autumn 2025.
