The Bardigiano Horse Takes Centre Stage
In Rezzoaglio, a municipality in Val d'Aveto within the Metropolitan City of Genoa, the equipped area of Farfanosa hosts the Interregional Review of the Bardigiano Horse. The Bardigiano is an ancient Apennine equine breed, robust and rustic, a symbol of the pastoral and zootechnical culture of the mountains between Liguria and Emilia.
A Day of Tradition
The review brings together breeders and specimens from various regions, in a day dedicated to the presentation and evaluation of the horses, with the involvement of enthusiasts and families. It is an event that tells the deep bond between the community of Val d'Aveto and breeding, a historical resource of these mountain territories.

The setting is the Regional Natural Park of Aveto, an area of great naturalistic value. The event, confirmed among the Authentic Ligurian Events funded by the Region, is an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Genoese hinterland and a zootechnical tradition of interregional importance.
Rassegna del Cavallo Bardigiano — edition 2026
For 2026, the Interregional Review of the Bardigiano Horse reaches its 42nd edition and is expected in September 2026 at the equipped area of Farfanosa, in Rezzoaglio. The event is confirmed among the Authentic Ligurian Events funded by the Region.
