The Cassinasco stop of the widespread festival dedicated to partisan memory between the Belbo and Bormida Langhe valleys
The Portami Via Festival is a traveling event that traverses the municipalities of the Asti Langhe and Monferrato, where the history of the Resistance has left a profound mark. Artistically directed by musician and writer Massimo Zamboni, former founder of CCCP-Fedeli alla Linea, the festival combines music, spoken word, theater, and civic engagement around the symbolic sites of the partisan struggle between the Belbo and Bormida valleys.
The 2026 edition, titled "La Forza e l'Inerme" (The Strength and the Defenseless), is divided into five summer stages (June 26-28) and an autumn coda (November 6-8). Participating municipalities include Cassinasco, Santo Stefano Belbo, Vesime, Canelli, and Bubbio, each linked to a memorial, a commemorative stone, or a Resistance museum.
In the municipality of Cassinasco, in the Province of Asti (Piedmont), the festival chooses the Piazza del Santuario dei Caffi as its stageโthe memorial site that preserves the memory of those interned in concentration camps and the partisan martyrs of the IX Garibaldi Division and the II Autonomous "Langhe" Division. It is a place that speaks for itself, nestled among the Moscato vineyards, and which fills with voices and music every year.
The evening of Saturday, June 27, 2026, opens at 9:00 PM with institutional greetings, followed at 9:15 PM by a literary reading that puts the word back at the center of the stage. At 9:30 PM, Hugo Russo takes the stage with an acoustic tribute to the repertoire of CCCP-Fedeli alla Linea, while at 10:30 PM it is time for the concert by singer-songwriter Anna Castiglia. To close the night, after midnight, a vinyl DJ set will accompany the audience until dawn.
More than just a concert lineup, the Portami Via Festival is an invitation to "take root" in the territory and its history. The UNESCO World Heritage hills of the Langhe become the setting for a dialogue between generations, where the memory of the Resistance meets contemporary culture, singer-songwriter music, and reflection on current events.
An authentic and deeply rooted cultural proposal, perfect for those who want to discover the deepest soul of the Apennine Piedmont by combining hiking through the vineyards, great music, and a reflection that remains ever-relevant.
For the 2026 edition, titled "La Forza e l'Inerme", the Portami Via Festival returns to Cassinasco on Saturday, June 27, with an entirely free evening in Piazza del Santuario dei Caffi. The program alternates historical memory and live music in one of the symbolic sites of the Resistance in the Asti Langhe.
Cassinasco is located in the Asti Langhe, just a few kilometers from Canelli and Bubbio. By car, from the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway, take the exit for Nizza Monferrato or Asti Est and continue towards Canelli and then Cassinasco. The nearest train station is Canelli (Asti-Acqui Terme line), about a 15-minute drive away.
Admission is free. The Cassinasco evening kicks off at 9:00 PM in Piazza del Santuario dei Caffi and continues with a DJ set until late at night.
We recommend comfortable clothing and a light jacket for the evening in the hills. Nearby, there is no shortage of Moscato d'Asti wineries and agritourisms for dinner and overnight stays.
