About Acqui Terme Anthological Exhibition

For over fifty years, the Anthological Exhibition of the City of Acqui Terme has been the most anticipated art event of the summer in the heart of the Monferrato region. Hosted in the historic halls of Palazzo Robellini in the city center, the exhibition brings a master of modern and contemporary art to Acqui Terme, in the province of Alessandria, every year. In 2026, the 51st edition is dedicated to Pop Art icon Andy Warhol, featuring 22 authentic works with completely free admission.

Half a century of great art in Acqui Terme

The Anthological Exhibition of the City of Acqui Terme is one of the longest-running and most prestigious art events in Piedmont. Founded in the 1970s and promoted by the Municipality of Acqui Terme through the Department of Culture, the exhibition has transformed the halls of Palazzo Robellini into a landmark for art lovers across the Monferrato area and the province of Alessandria. Every summer, the spa town dedicates its Anthological exhibition to a major protagonist of 20th-century art, alternating between painters, sculptors, and international masters.

The 2026 edition: Andy Warhol and Pop Art

The 51st Anthological Exhibition, scheduled from June 13 to July 5, 2026, is dedicated to Andy Warhol, the undisputed father of American Pop Art. On display are 22 authentic works that trace the most famous stages of his production: from the myth of Marilyn Monroe to the iconic Campbell's Soup Cans, from Brillo Soap Pads to the cover of the Velvet Underground & Nico vinyl, as well as the portrait of Carlo Monzino and the Ladies & Gentlemen series. A journey that recounts the Warholian revolution defined by seriality, mechanical reproduction, and screen printing.

An event within the International Biennial of Engraving

The exhibition is organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the International Association for Engraving and represents the heart of the XVII International Biennial of Engraving - Acqui Prize, the historic event that makes Acqui Terme a capital of graphic art and engraving. On the evening of the inauguration, Piazza della Bollente is transformed into a grand tribute to Warhol's aesthetic with video projections, music, and dance.
