As winter gets into full swing, in Struppa, a hamlet in the upper Val Bisagno in Genoa, the G.A.U. Association organises its Porchetta Festival. At the Social Centre in Piazza Giuliano Suppini, volunteers prepare a traditional lunch with porchetta, sausages, and ribs, hearty dishes perfect for the cold season.
A community lunch
The event takes the form of a convivial lunch reserved for association members, with mandatory booking. This is a typical format for Ligurian associations, where the table becomes an occasion for gathering and supporting the association's activities. In the afternoon, a musical performance accompanies the diners.
