Roasted chestnuts and autumn flavors with the Alpini of Torriglia
The Alpini Chestnut Festival is the autumn event organized by the Gruppo Alpini of Torriglia, a village in the Apennines within the Metropolitan City of Genoa. The star is the chestnut, the symbolic fruit of these woods, transformed into fragrant roasted chestnuts.
In the village center, the Alpini serve steaming roasted chestnuts accompanied by local wine and mountain cheeses, in a festive atmosphere that celebrates the flavors of autumn and conviviality. A simple and genuine day, perfect for discovering Torriglia and its surroundings during the most evocative time of the year.
The chestnut festival is recognized among the Authentic Ligurian Events, a brand that promotes events most closely linked to the territory's tradition. An event that combines the Alpini's spirit of service, mountain culture, and love for local products, at the gateway to the Antola Park.
For 2026, the Alpini Chestnut Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, in the center of Torriglia. The Gruppo Alpini is responsible for preparing the roasted chestnuts, accompanied by local wine and mountain cheeses.
