Three weeks of wood-fired pizza, live music, and a funfair in Ponte a Egola
In the municipality of San Miniato, in the heart of the province of Pisa, the district of Ponte a Egola hosts one of the most anticipated events of the Lower Valdarno summer calendar every year. The Pizza Festival, reaching its 18th edition in 2026, is organized by the Associazione Culturale La Ruga with the patronage of the Municipality of San Miniato and takes place on the grounds of the Circolo ARCI "C. Pannocchia" on Via Ferrari.
The heart of the event is, of course, the pizza: over 300 square meters of covered space house the dining area, while the kitchen serves up all kinds of pizzas, all strictly baked in a wood-fired oven. Alongside classic Margheritas and more elaborate toppings, the menu offers appetizers, pasta dishes, main courses, and desserts, all in the convivial atmosphere typical of Tuscan village festivals. Admission to the festival is free.
The Pizza Festival is about more than just great food. Every evening, the outdoor area features an entertainment program filled with live music, shows, and performances, while children and teenagers can enjoy the large funfair set up for the occasion. It is this combination of flavor, conviviality, and fun that makes the event a meeting point for the residents of San Miniato and neighboring towns.
Framing the festival is the evening craft market, set up in the nearby Piazza G. Rossa in Ponte a Egola. The stalls remain open every evening from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM for the entire duration of the event, offering a chance to browse through artisanal creations, gift ideas, and local products before or after dinner at the festival.
For nearly twenty years, the Pizza Festival has been one of the events that best represents the community spirit of Ponte a Egola, a district deeply tied to the tanning and manufacturing traditions of the leather district. For this part of Tuscany, away from the main tourist hubs, events like this are the perfect opportunity to experience an authentic summer, made of simple flavors and open-air conviviality.
For its 18th edition, from June 4th to 21st, 2026, the Pizza Festival in Ponte a Egola returns to liven up the San Miniato district with three weeks of festivities. In the over 300 square meters of covered space at the Circolo ARCI "C. Pannocchia", guests can enjoy all kinds of pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven, as well as appetizers, pasta dishes, main courses, and desserts.
The outdoor area hosts live music and shows every evening, while the large funfair entertains the younger crowd. In Piazza G. Rossa, from June 5th to 21st, the craft market is open from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Admission is free.
The detailed evening program for the 18th edition, including the full schedule of musical performances and live shows, will be announced by the organizers on the Associazione Culturale La Ruga channels closer to the event.
