The festival celebrating the traditional peppers of Ferla, in the Iblei Mountains
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Pipi Corni Festival is one of the most cherished gastronomic traditions of Ferla, an agricultural village in the Iblei Mountains in the province of Syracuse, Sicily. Held in August, the event highlights a unique local product: the pipi corni, a variety of small, distinctively curved peppers that have long been a staple of the local peasant cuisine.
The heart of the festival lies in the stalls set up in Piazza San Sebastiano, where visitors can taste specialties prepared with pipi corni alongside other products from the Iblei territory. Ferla is a renowned agricultural hub, famous for its Iblei extra virgin olive oil, Iblei black truffle, and its selection of cheeses and cured meats. The festival is the perfect opportunity to rediscover these authentic flavors while fostering a sense of community and welcoming guests from afar.
Beyond the culinary delights, the evening features musical performances, folklore, and entertainment. During the August 20, 2025 edition, stalls opened at 7:00 PM, and the square hosted a concert by the Andros Band, turning Ferla's historic center into a vibrant meeting place for families and visitors.
