About Piove di Luce
A month of lights in the historic centre
Piove di Luce is the Christmas programme of Piove di Sacco, in the province of Padua. From the lighting of the Christmas tree until Epiphany, the historic centre fills with lights, events and festive moments, with a schedule spread over weekends and public holidays.
Projections on the Carrarese Tower
The most evocative moment is the lighting of the Christmas tree in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, accompanied by light projections on the medieval Carrarese Tower, the symbol of the city. The calendar continues with theatre shows, marching bands in the streets of the centre, concerts and the traditional Christmas gospel concert in the Duomo.
Markets and celebration for everyone
Among the events, the Christmas market with local products, performances by youth orchestras and the Christmas show in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II stand out. The event is coordinated by the Pro Loco of Piove di Sacco with the support of local associations and the Padua Chamber of Commerce, and represents one of the main Advent events in the Saccisica.
Piove di Luce — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Piove di Luce is expected from late November 2026 until January 6, 2027, with the usual widespread programme. The opening includes the lighting of the Christmas tree with light projections on the Carrarese Tower; the programme then continues with theatre shows, marching bands, concerts, the gospel concert in the Duomo, the Christmas market and the Christmas show in the square.
