On December 6th, the whole of Ponte celebrates its patron saint and opens Christmas
The Festa Patronale di San Nicolò (Patronal Festival of Saint Nicholas) is celebrated on December 6th, the liturgical feast day of Saint Nicholas of Bari, in Ponte San Nicolò, in the province of Padua. It is no ordinary festival: the saint is the town's millennial guardian, so much so that it bears his name. For this reason, schools and public offices remain closed, highlighting the civil as well as religious value of the occasion.
The day combines moments of faith around the Church of San Nicola with events in the town square. In the streets of the centre, you will find street artists and performances, traditional musical events, a small carousel for children, hot chocolate, and mulled wine, as well as stalls from local associations. It is the festival that opens the town's Christmas period.
The celebration is made possible by the collaboration between the parish of the main town, the Friends of the Church, the Pro Loco (local tourism board), the blood donor association, local associations, and the Municipality of Ponte San Nicolò. A network of entities that makes the Festival of Saint Nicholas an unmissable event for the community, capable of bringing together families and residents of all ages in the square.
The Festa Patronale di San Nicolò 2026 will be celebrated on Sunday, December 6th in Ponte San Nicolò.
