About Fiera di San Martino
A fair nearly four centuries old
The Fiera di San Martino is one of the oldest and most established events in Piove di Sacco, a municipality in the province of Padua. The fair was established by a document dated October 22, 1628: since then, the fiera franca (free fair) has been held every November 11th, regardless of the day of the week.
Stalls, livestock, and agricultural machinery
The historic center transforms into a large market with about 290 stalls selling all kinds of goods, attracting thousands of visitors from neighboring towns. On the same day, the traditional Fiera del Bestiame e delle Macchine Agricole (Livestock and Agricultural Machinery Fair) takes place, a major draw for both adults and children, testifying to the Saccisica region's connection to the rural world.
Celebrations and funfair
The fair is accompanied by the Festeggiamenti di San Martino (St. Martin's Celebrations), which take place between the first weekend of November and the days around the fair, and by a large luna park (funfair) with dozens of attractions. A second day of the fair, with the same stalls, is held on the second Sunday of November.
Fiera di San Martino — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Fiera di San Martino will take place on Wednesday, November 11th, in Piove di Sacco, as per the centuries-old tradition of the free fair. The historic center will host approximately 290 stalls offering all kinds of goods, alongside the Fiera del Bestiame e delle Macchine Agricole (Livestock and Agricultural Machinery Fair) and a large funfair with dozens of attractions.
A second day of the fair, with the same stalls, is scheduled for the second Sunday of November (November 8th), while the Festeggiamenti di San Martino will animate the weekends surrounding the fair with events and religious celebrations dedicated to the patron saint.

How to get there
Piove di Sacco can be reached from Padua in about 20 minutes by car (SP3) or by intercity bus. The fair takes place in the historic center, with significant traffic changes and restrictions on the days of the event.
