The rarest vegetable of Brianza celebrates at Palazzo Archinti
In the Municipality of Mezzago, in the Province of Monza and Brianza, a rare and very special vegetable grows: the pink asparagus, with its characteristic color that distinguishes it from the more common green and white asparagus. Dedicated to this product, a symbol of the territory, is the Pink Asparagus Festival, one of the most heartfelt and long-standing gastronomic events in Brianza, organized by Pro Loco Mezzago APS.
The festival venue is the historic Palazzo Archinti, in the center of Mezzago. Here, for several weeks between late April and May, the program is concentrated: the festival restaurant, where you can taste pink asparagus in its myriad forms, from risotto to traditional preparations; the producers' market; a renovated bar area with informal offerings like asparagus arancini.
The festival is a complete celebration that combines tradition, taste, and culture. Alongside the food, there is space for:
The event has obtained the national "Sagra di Qualitร " mark from UNPLI, an award reserved for festivals that authentically promote typical products and the territory. For Mezzago, pink asparagus is not just an ingredient: it is an identity symbol that the festival helps to preserve and pass down each year, introducing visitors to a small treasure of Brianza's agriculture.
The 66th edition of the Pink Asparagus Festival of Mezzago is held from April 30 to May 17, 2026, with Palazzo Archinti as the main venue. For three weeks, the program alternates music, gastronomy, nature, and activities for the little ones, in a journey that combines tradition, culture, and entertainment.
The festival restaurant is active on selected evenings (Thursday-Saturday) and for Sunday lunches, while the new bar area offers informal pink asparagus-based options without the need for reservations. The concluding Sunday, May 17, is the highlight of the festival.
Program spread over three weekends at Palazzo Archinti. Some main events:
