The finest food and wine from Piedmont on the Stresa lakefront
The Piedmont Regional Market is a traveling fair dedicated to the food and wine excellence of Piedmont, which tours various locations throughout the region during the year. One of the most beloved stops is Stresa, the pearl of Lake Maggiore in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, where the market sets up between the Public Gardens and the famous lakefront, in one of the most picturesque settings in Piedmont.
For an entire weekend, tourists and locals can wander and shop among the stalls, housed within elegant exhibition pavilions. The products, often hard to find in traditional retail, are presented and explained directly by the Piedmontese producers, who share their passion and commitment to keeping the traditions linked to their specialties alive.
Among the stalls, you will find some of the region's most representative delicacies:
An integral part of the Piedmont Regional Market is the Games of Yesteryear trail, a space dedicated to traditional games of the past that engages both adults and children, enriching the experience with a dive into popular memory and Piedmontese traditions. The event thus combines the promotion of local products with family-friendly fun.
Visiting the Piedmont Regional Market in Stresa is also the perfect opportunity to discover one of the most fascinating towns on Lake Maggiore: the flower-lined lakefront, the historic villas, and the pier where boats depart for the Borromean Islands. Admission is free, and the Public Gardens are just a short walk from the town center.
The 2026 spring edition of the Piedmont Regional Market took place in Stresa on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, with continuous hours from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, in the Public Gardens and along the lakefront.
Along the exhibition route, visitors were able to discover and purchase Piedmontese food and wine delicacies: cheeses, truffles, wines, cured meats, fresh pasta, traditional sweets, hazelnuts, artisanal chocolate, honey, fresh mushrooms, fruit, rice, chestnuts, and jams, presented directly by the producers.
Completing the event was the popular Games of Yesteryear trail, dedicated to Piedmontese recreational traditions and suitable for the whole family. Admission was free.
