The Piccolo Festival di Narrazioni is the new summer season at the Teatro Comunale di Bucine, located in the province of Arezzo, in the Tuscan Valdarno. As the name implies, it is an intimate festival that puts storytelling at the heart of everything: the stories, the people, and the community. Music, theatre, and performances for children and adults, featuring local talent and nationally renowned guests, fill the summer months, creating a continuous dialogue between the historic theatre hall and the adjacent open-air amphitheatre under the Tuscan sky.

Where stories and community meet

The festival was born from the belief that a theatre is not just a place to watch a show, but a living space where the community gathers. The programme balances major names in Italian singer-songwriter music, narrative theatre, children's events, and projects involving local artists and associations. The festival is part of Officina Estate, the summer project curated by the Diesis Teatrango company, which has been enlivening the cultural life of Bucine for over thirty years with a special focus on social, educational, and community theatre.

Kicking off on June 17

The 2026 edition begins on June 17, with the first major highlight scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, at 9:15 PM: a concert-performance featuring a repertoire of over sixty songs that trace the history of Italian singer-songwriters, from Fabrizio De André to Francesco Guccini, Francesco De Gregori to Lucio Battisti, Pino Daniele to Lucio Dalla, and Franco Battiato to Pierangelo Bertoli and Ivan Graziani. It is an evening spanning decades of music and lyrics, perfectly capturing the spirit of the festival, where songs become stories.

The Teatro Comunale di Bucine

The Teatro Comunale di Bucine, built in the early 20th century by the local Philharmonic Society, stands in a commanding position over the town's historic centre. With its rectangular hall and spacious gallery, it is one of the most vibrant cultural spaces in the Arezzo Valdarno. The presence of an adjacent open-air amphitheatre makes the theatre the ideal setting for a summer festival that moves between indoor spaces and evenings under the stars.
