Two days dedicated to cocoa in the heart of Impruneta
On the first weekend marking the transition from winter to spring, Impruneta transforms into a small kingdom of cocoa. Saturday, February 28th, and Sunday, March 1st, 2026, see the debut of Piazza del Cioccolato, an event that weaves together taste, culture, music, and cinema in the historic center of this town in the province of Florence, nestled in the Florentine Chianti hills.
The heart of the event is the market exhibition in Piazza Buondelmonti, where master chocolatiers showcase their creations: chocolate bars, pralines, sculptures, and artisanal specialties to sample and buy. Alongside the stalls, there will be a themed book corner curated by the LiberoCaos bookstore, featuring titles dedicated to chocolate and fine dining.
More than just a gourmet fair, Piazza del Cioccolato offers a journey into cocoa, its history, and its ties to gastronomic traditions. This choice is no coincidence: the initiative is part of the Centenary of the Festa dell'Uva, the historic event that made Impruneta famous throughout Tuscany, expanding its program with a new appointment dedicated to another confectionery excellence.
The two days are filled with activities for all ages. Highlights range from live music by Due Voci to shows designed for children, and the world-inspired sounds of the Giguy Quartet with their "Songs and dances from Mandeng to the Ivory Coast" performance. In the Loggiato del Pellegrino, as evening falls, two film screenings celebrate chocolate on the big screen, while children can enjoy a dedicated show and an inflatable play area.
With this first edition, the Pro Loco of Impruneta, with the patronage of the Municipality, enriches the village's event calendar and invites families, food lovers, and curious visitors to discover the charm of chocolate in a convivial atmosphere among the squares and loggias of the center. In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.
