About Piacere, Marciano!

Piacere, Marciano! is an event that opens the historic center of Marciano della Chiana, in the province of Arezzo, for a day of local flavors, markets, and culture. Along the streets and squares of this Valdichiana village, you will find the 'Borgo Culinario' (Culinary Village) featuring local excellence (aglione, chianina beef, porchetta), a flea market with over 100 stalls, traditional games in the public gardens, and guided tours of the Tower. A format designed to blend tradition and tourism in the heart of Tuscany.

A day in the Valdichiana village

Piacere, Marciano! is the format through which the Municipality of Marciano della Chiana, in the province of Arezzo, opens its historic center to residents and visitors for a day entirely dedicated to taste, history, and tradition. Launched in the spring of 2025, the event has grown rapidly, now offering both spring and autumn editions, becoming a true community project that involves the municipal administration, local associations, and Valdichiana agricultural producers.

The Culinary Village

The heart of the event is the Borgo Culinario: along the streets and squares of Marciano, food stalls managed by local associations showcase the authentic flavors of the Valdichiana. The stars are the local products, from aglione (giant garlic) to chianina beef, as well as porchetta and seasonal specialties. The goal is to create a synergy between the associations' cooking and the raw materials from local farms, for a food and wine experience that highlights the short supply chain.

The Flea Market and Crafts

Alongside the food, there is the Flea Market, curated by the staff of the Arezzo Flea Market, with over 100 stalls featuring vintage items, small crafts, jewelry, clothing, and curiosities that bring the charming setting of the Rocca to life. There are also exhibitions dedicated to local traditions and creative workshops.

History, culture, and family activities

Marciano della Chiana is a village with a strong historical identity, linked to the famous Battle of Marciano (1554). During the event, you can take guided tours of the Marciano Tower and visit an interactive exhibition dedicated to the battle itself. In the public gardens, the Games of Yesterday and Today area comes to life, with traditional pastimes and creative activities designed for children and families.

An event to discover the lesser-known Tuscany

More than just a simple festival, Piacere, Marciano! is an opportunity to discover one of the pearls of the Arezzo Valdichiana, far from the major tourist flows. The free entry, the quality of local products, and the authentic atmosphere of the village make it an ideal destination for a day trip in Tuscany, blending culture, gastronomy, and popular tradition.
