An evening of wine and flavors in the heart of Ciociaria

Piacere DiVino is the premier food and wine event of the summer in Santopadre, a small, perched village in the province of Frosinone, southern Lazio. For one August evening, the medieval historic center comes alive with stalls, lights, and music. Visitors wander through alleys and squares with a glass in hand, sampling local wines and Ciociarian specialties along a route that winds through the most picturesque corners of the town.

The food and wine trail

The heart of the event is the trail set up throughout the ancient village. In the 2025 edition, there were over twenty stands distributed along the route, featuring local dishes, products, and wines. In previous years, the trail has involved up to thirty wineries, tucked away in the most scenic spots and alleys of the historic center. The format is the tried-and-tested one of local wine festivals: you stroll from stop to stop, tasting and discovering local excellence directly from the producers themselves.

Live music and artisan market

Accompanying the tastings is an eclectic musical program ranging from singer-songwriter tracks to blues, rock, and DJ sets, with live performances scattered along the route. There is also a market featuring local crafts and more, completing the festive atmosphere with stalls and handmade creations. The town is dressed up for the occasion with colorful decorations, making the evening stroll even more enchanting.

A medieval village to discover

Santopadre is one of the most scenic villages in Ciociaria. Perched on a hill at over 700 meters above sea level, it overlooks the Liri Valley with a compact historic center made of stairways, arches, and stone houses. Piacere DiVino is also an opportunity to discover this authentic corner of Lazio, far from the main tourist flows, where the festival becomes the perfect excuse to visit the town in its finest attire.

A tradition that grows year by year

Born as a local wine festival, the event reached its eleventh edition in 2025, confirming its status as one of the most popular food and wine events of the summer in the province of Frosinone. The organization is managed by the Piacere DiVino Committee together with the Municipality of Santopadre and the Pro Loco, with a collaboration between old and new generations that has become the hallmark of the event. Past editions have attracted large crowds from neighboring towns and across the entire Ciociaria region every year.
