The Pfolzna Dorffest, known in Italian as the Festa del paese di Falzes, is the summer event that brings together the entire community of the small village of Falzes (Pfalzen) every year. Nestled on a sunny plateau at the entrance to the Puster Valley in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol, the village center transforms into a vibrant festival space for a long weekend, hosted by local associations offering gastronomic specialties, music, and entertainment for all ages.
Established in the second half of the 2010s, the festival has grown with each edition to become one of the most awaited events on the local calendar. It is organized by volunteers and numerous village associations, from musical groups to the volunteer fire department, in a collaboration that embodies the South Tyrolean community spirit. Proceeds from the event support the activities of the local associations.
The festival structure follows a well-established three-day tradition:
The heart of the event lies in the culinary specialties prepared by the local associations: traditional South Tyrolean dishes, desserts, beer, and local products served at stalls set up in the village center. The sound of brass bands, the convivial atmosphere, and the festive spirit make the Pfolzna Dorffest an ideal opportunity to discover the authentic hospitality of a Puster Valley mountain village, far from the main tourist crowds.
Located at the foot of the Kronplatz ski area, the Municipality of Falzes and its hamlets are a popular destination for active holidays in every season. The village festival offers visitors the chance to experience the most genuine and communal side of this corner of South Tyrol, where folk traditions are still a living part of everyday life.
The 2026 edition of the Falzes Village Festival does not yet have official dates. Following the custom of previous years, the event is expected to take place in early August, with the beer tapping ceremony on Friday evening and the traditional Sunday parade through the village center. Information on dates and the program will be updated as soon as the organizers announce them.
The festival takes place in the center of the village of Falzes (Pfalzen), in the Puster Valley, province of Bolzano.
By car: Take the Bressanone/Val Pusteria exit on the A22 motorway, then follow the Puster Valley state road (SS49) to Falzes. By train: Take the train to Brunico station on the Puster Valley line, then catch a local bus to Falzes.
