Urban climbing in the historic center of Pergine Valsugana
Perzen Street Boulder is an urban climbing event that brings street bouldering among the buildings and squares of Pergine Valsugana, in the province of Trento, in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. For an entire weekend, the town's historic center transforms into a massive open-air gym: crash pads on the pavement, chalk-covered hands, and over 30 boulders mapped out for every difficulty level, from novices to the most experienced climbers.
The event was born from the collaboration between Overchalked, a group of enthusiasts who have been developing new climbing areas in the Trentino valleys for years, and the Workless Collective, a team specialized in organizing outdoor events. The idea is simple and engaging: to see potential where others see only walls, rediscovering urban spaces through the athletic movement of bouldering.
Saturday opens with climbing lessons dedicated to children and schools in Piazza Municipio, followed by yoga in the square, talks with athletes, highline exhibitions, and balance challenges. In the afternoon, the street boulder contest kicks off on the lines traced throughout the center, while in the evening, the town comes alive with food, stands, live music, and DJ sets. Sunday features AcroYoga, slackline, bike rides, and a second competition session, culminating in the finals on an artificial wall with the awards ceremony, before the final aperitif.
More than just a competition, Perzen Street Boulder is a celebration of sport that weaves the energy of climbing with the tradition and life of the Pergine community, offering residents and visitors a new way to experience the streets and squares of this Valsugana town.
The first edition of the Perzen Street Boulder was held on May 30 and 31, 2026, in Pergine Valsugana, Trentino. On Saturday morning, Piazza Municipio hosted climbing lessons for children and schools (from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM), followed by yoga, talks with athletes, and highline exhibitions; in the afternoon (2:00 PM - 6:00 PM), the street boulder contest took place on the lines in the center. Sunday featured AcroYoga, slackline, and a second competition session, with the artificial wall finals (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) and the awards ceremony, before the final aperitif with music at Parco Tre Castagni. The event, organized by Overchalked and Workless Collective, offered over 30 boulders for all levels, with a €25 contest registration fee and FASI membership required.
Pergine Valsugana can be reached by car from the A22 Brenner motorway (Trento exit) by continuing towards Valsugana, or by train via the Trento-Venice line (Valsugana Railway), getting off at the Pergine Valsugana station. Activities take place in Piazza Municipio, the streets of the historic center, and at Parco Tre Castagni.
Registration for the street boulder contest is €25; a food and wine package is also available for €40, including tastings at local businesses. To participate in the competition, FASI membership is required, which can also be obtained on-site. Register on the official website perzenstreetboulder.it.
