The King Mushroom of Oga
The Persighin Festival takes place in the village of Oga, a hamlet of the municipality of Valdisotto, in the province of Sondrio, a few kilometers from Bormio. The absolute protagonist is the persighin, a local chanterelle (cantarello) appreciated for its distinctive aroma and authentic flavor.
A Day of Celebration in the Village
The festival enlivens the historic center of Oga with creative markets, stands of local crafts and products, workshops for children, and guided tours of the village's heritage, such as Casa Rocca. The highlight is the lunch in the square featuring persighin mushrooms, around which the entire celebration revolves.
Tradition of the Alta Valtellina
Now in its thirtieth edition, the Persighin Festival is one of the most established gastronomic events of the Valdisotto summer. Visiting Oga during the festival means discovering an authentic corner of the alpine Lombardy, amidst panoramas of the Alta Valtellina, peasant traditions, and the culture of the woods and its fruits.
