A Sagra Defending a Local Product
Per un Pugno di Curnitt is the gastronomic festival in Usmate Velate, in the province of Monza and Brianza, dedicated to curnitt — the green beans, in the Brianza dialect — one of the symbolic agricultural products of the area. The event is the evolution of the historic “Festa dì Curnitt”, which celebrated this vegetable for 23 editions, and carries on its spirit of promoting local peasant culture.
Flavours of Lombard Cuisine
The festival takes place at the Centro Civico di Cascina Corrada, at via Vivaldi 6, and is organised by the Associazione per il Tempo Libero (ATL). The menu is a tribute to tradition: dishes made with curnitt, but also great classics of Lombard cuisine such as busecca (tripe) and cassœula. Alongside the food stalls, a well-stocked artisan market offers local products and hobby creations.
Music, Games, and Fun for Everyone
The evenings are marked by themed events: from the Burraco Tournament to the Country Night, from the evening with the Nomadi tribute band to ballroom dancing, with live music closing each evening. Inflatables and entertainment activities are set up for the little ones. “Per un Pugno di Curnitt” thus confirms itself as a popular and family-friendly festival, capable of uniting gastronomy, tradition, and fun, keeping Usmate Velate's connection with its agricultural culture alive.

The 2026 edition of Per un Pugno di Curnitt confirms the sagra's formula dedicated to the typical Brianza product, with three days of gastronomy, music, and fun at the Centro Civico di Cascina Corrada.
The program alternates dishes with curnitt and traditional Lombard cuisine with themed music evenings, featuring the burraco tournament, the country night, and the Nomadi tribute band among the most anticipated events.
