The summer literary festival of Pellizzano, in Val di Sole
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Pellizzano Book Weekend is the summer literary festival that, every year at the end of July, turns the small town of Pellizzano in Val di Sole, located in the heart of the autonomous province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), into an open-air reading lounge. For an entire weekend, the town center and the characteristic Parco Sama—a famous garden of ancient apple trees planted in the early 20th century—host a diverse program of presentations, author meetings, and activities for all ages.
Most of the events take place at Parco Sama, a unique public park spanning about 9,000 square meters where history, culture, and environmental conservation coexist. Amidst the old apple trees, play areas, and wooden benches, the festival offers readings, creative workshops for children, and afternoon presentations, while evening meetings are also held in the town's municipal auditorium.
The Book Weekend alternates between different genres and voices: from intimate fiction to mountain stories, from thrillers set in the Trentino valleys to alpine cuisine told by its protagonists. The event also features a book market set up in the town center and art exhibitions that run throughout the days. It is a successful blend of literature, local territory, and conviviality, capable of attracting readers, curious visitors, and families vacationing in Val di Sole.
Promoted locally with the involvement of the Municipality and local cultural entities, the festival is designed as a gathering point for the residents of Pellizzano and a cultural offering for the many tourists visiting the valley in summer. Admission to all meetings is free, in line with the accessible and widespread spirit of the event.
Situated at an altitude of about 925 meters along the Noce stream, Pellizzano is a mountain village in the Val di Sole Community, nestled between the Brenta Group, the Stelvio National Park, and the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. The alpine setting makes the Book Weekend a perfect opportunity to combine a mountain holiday with the discovery of authors and books in a stunning natural environment.
The 2026 edition of the Pellizzano Book Weekend has not yet been officially announced. Based on previous editions, the literary festival is usually held at the end of July, between the town center and Parco Sama, featuring a book market, presentations, exhibitions, and workshops for children. The detailed program and dates will be communicated by the organizers via the Municipality of Pellizzano and Val di Sole channels.
