About San Pietro Festival

Every year during the last week of June, the park of the Don Primo Mazzolari Oratory in Riva del Garda comes alive for the Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, dedicated to the patron saints of this town in the Upper Garda Trentino region. Organized by the Circolo Oratorio Don Primo Mazzolari, the event features amateur tournaments in tennis, bocce, table tennis, foosball, and minibasket, alongside three musical evenings, food stalls serving local dishes, a Fast Food Night, and the solemn mass on June 29th: an event that blends religious tradition, sport, and community spirit.

A community celebration in the heart of Riva del Garda

The Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is one of the most cherished summer events in Riva. It takes place annually during the last week of June at the Don Primo Mazzolari Oratory park, located on Via Filanda in the S. Alessandro district, just a stone's throw from the historic center of Riva del Garda, in the Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Dedicated to the city's two patron saints, the festival combines religious observance with social gatherings, bringing together families, children, young people, and sports enthusiasts of all ages.

Organization and spirit of the event

The event is promoted and organized by the Circolo Oratorio Don Primo Mazzolari APS, an association that has managed the S. Alessandro oratory grounds since the 1980s, complete with tennis courts, a soccer field, a basketball court, activity rooms, and a kitchen. Proceeds from the festival support educational and recreational activities for the parish community's youth.

A program of sport, music, and gastronomy

The heart of the festival lies in its amateur tournaments, open to all ages and skill levels. Throughout the week, competitions are held in:

  • tennis
  • bocce
  • table tennis
  • foosball
  • minibasket, traditionally organized in collaboration with Virtus Basket Alto Garda

The evenings are accompanied by three musical events featuring diverse genres, designed to appeal to every generation, from 70s, 80s, and 90s hits to baby dance for the little ones. There are also moments dedicated to families, such as themed games for children and the classic grand tombola.

Traditional cuisine

Throughout the festival, bars and food stalls are open, offering traditional local dishes, complemented by a special Fast Food Night featuring high-quality gourmet sandwiches. It is the perfect opportunity to gather for an outdoor meal under the trees of the oratory park.

The solemnity of June 29th

The most solemn moment is the holy mass on June 29th, the liturgical feast day of Saints Peter and Paul, which concludes the week of celebrations alongside the tournament awards ceremony. It is a moment that honors the deep bond between the community of Riva del Garda and its patron saints, the guardians of local tradition.

Why attend

The Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is an authentic opportunity to experience the true essence of Riva del Garda, away from the typical tourist circuits, immersed in the warm atmosphere of a village festival that brings residents and visitors together every summer in Trentino-Alto Adige.
