Saint Lawrence is the patron saint of Cogoleto, a town on the Riviera di Ponente in the Metropolitan City of Genoa, celebrated as tradition dictates on August 10th, the day of the martyr and the night of the famous 'shooting stars'. The patronal feast is one of the most cherished events of the Cogoleto summer and involves the entire community through faith, music, and spectacle.

Band, mass, and procession

The festivities begin on Saturday evening with the concert 'Waiting for Saint Lawrence' by the Banda Musicale Città di Cogoleto (Cogoleto City Musical Band) in Piazza della Chiesa. Sunday is the main day: the solemn mass in the afternoon and the evening procession in honor of the saint wind through the town center, accompanying the devotional aspect of the feast.

Music and fireworks over the sea

In the evening, Molo Speca hosts the concert by the Sunny Boys, while the most anticipated moment is the fireworks display at sea, with fireworks reflecting in the waters of the Riviera. The food stalls, set up at the Oratorio San Lorenzo since the beginning of August, complete a feast that combines religious tradition, good food, and entertainment for residents and tourists.
