In Recco, a town in the Golfo Paradiso in the province of Genoa, the Festival of Fire is the grand celebration in honor of Nostra Signora del Suffragio, the city's patron and protector. The districts' challenge
The heart of the event is the competition between the seven city districts — Bastia, Collodari, Liceto, Ponte, San Martino, Spiaggia, and Verzemma — which compete with fireworks. The spectacular "fireworks from the sea" illuminate the sky of the Golfo Paradiso in a crescendo of colors and power, while each district sets up its own food stalls.

For 2026, the Festival of Fire takes place on September 7 and 8, around the feast of the patron saint N.S. del Suffragio. The city experiences two days of religious celebrations, processions to the sanctuary, the pyrotechnic competition between the seven districts with "fireworks from the sea," and food stalls set up by the city teams. How to get there
By train: Recco station on the Genoa-La Spezia line, a short walk from the center. By car: Recco A12 exit. During the festival, the city is very crowded: using the train is recommended.
Admission
Fireworks displays are visible for free from the seafront; food stalls are managed by the districts and are paid.
