The festival of the village of Dolonne in honour of its patron saint
The Patron Saint Festival of San Benedetto is the most cherished event in the village of Dolonne, a hamlet of Courmayeur (Province of Aosta). Every year, in mid-July, the ancient stone core at the foot of Mont Blanc comes alive to honour the patron saint with a festival that combines religious moments and popular tradition.
The heart of the celebration is the Mass in the village chapel, followed by convivial moments in the village streets. The festival involves residents and visitors with parades by the musical band, entertainment for all ages, and the flavours of Aosta Valley cuisine, in a genuine and welcoming village atmosphere.
The programme alternates games for the little ones, such as the traditional "Dolonniadi", with community dinners featuring typical dishes from the Aosta Valley: Aosta Valley salad, savoury pies, tomino cheese, risotto with fontina cheese and mocetta, and fiocca with tegole biscuits. The evening continues with performances by folklore groups, such as Les Badochys, and with live music and DJs until late.
The San Benedetto festival represents one of the moments when Courmayeur shows its most authentic face: not the worldly one of the ski slopes, but that of the hamlet communities that preserve their traditions. Organised with the support of the Municipality of Courmayeur, it is an unmissable stop for those who want to experience the Aosta Valley summer away from the most beaten tourist circuits.

The precise calendar is published by the Municipality of Courmayeur in the weeks preceding the event.
