The Southern motor show featuring trucks, food, and music
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every summer, the Valle district in the municipality of Palomonte, in the province of Salerno, transforms into a massive display of mirror-polished trucks. Palomonte Truck has brought the spectacle of heavy vehicles to the Salerno hinterland: dozens of trucks lined up side by side, featuring custom cabins, chrome finishes, airbrush art, and sound systems with LED displays that light up the Sele Valley countryside after dark. It is a grassroots event in the truest sense, where the passion of truckers meets a local festival atmosphere, with families strolling among the vehicles and children climbing into the cabs.
The event is conceived and organized by entrepreneurs Silvano Carbone and Gerardo Cupo, with the patronage of the Municipality of Palomonte and the collaboration of the Pro Loco and the Civil Protection. Self-funded and free to enter, the festival has grown rapidly: the very first edition was a sell-out, with over a hundred trucks and thousands of visitors arriving from across Campania and neighboring regions. In subsequent years, the format has solidified into a two-day event held at the end of June, spanning Saturday and Sunday.
Palomonte Truck is more than just a motor exhibition. Each edition dedicates space to the themes of road safety, sustainability, and the challenges facing the transport sector, with discussion panels and official greetings: in 2025, Mayor Felice Cupo, Councilor Lara Moscato, and the Vice President of the Province of Salerno, Giovanni Guzzo, were in attendance. It is a way to give visibility to a professional category that is often overlooked and to discuss safer roads with a broad and diverse audience.
Alongside the trucks, you will find food and wine stalls offering specialties from the Sele area and inland Campania: fried foods, sandwiches with local products, cheeses, and traditional desserts. The Sunday lunch with the truckers has become a ritual, as have the long evenings spent enjoying street food, music, and conversation under the trailer lights. Entry to the area is free, and the event is designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Palomonte (ZIP 84020) is a small municipality in the hinterland of the province of Salerno, overlooking the upper Sele Valley and not far from the Alburni Mountains. The Valle district, where the gathering takes place, offers the open space needed to host the trucks and the public. For the town, the event represents one of the most important occasions of the year, capable of attracting visitors from across Campania and showcasing a territory usually off the beaten tourist path.
The event is traditionally held in June: June 29โ30 in 2024, June 21โ22 in 2025, while the 2026 edition concluded at the end of June with a large turnout. Those wishing to attend should follow the organizers' social media channels and local Salerno press, where the program is usually released in the weeks immediately preceding the event.
In 2026, the Valle district of Palomonte once again hosted the Sele Valley truck gathering. Local reports noted the conclusion of the event at the end of June, highlighting the large crowd and interviews with the artist Very and the staff of GM Management, who were involved in the musical portion of the festival.
As in previous editions, the event was organized by entrepreneurs Silvano Carbone and Gerardo Cupo with the patronage of the Municipality of Palomonte, and remained free to enter. However, neither the complete official dates nor the hourly program for the 2026 edition appear to have been published online; for this reason, this entry provides an indicative period, pending confirmation from the organizers.
The gathering takes place in the Valle district, in the municipality of Palomonte (SA). By car, take the A2 del Mediterraneo motorway, exit in the Sele Valley area, and continue along local roads towards Palomonte. The nearest airports are Salerno-Costa d'Amalfi and Naples-Capodichino.
Admission is free: the event is self-funded by the organizers. In past editions, the area has opened on Saturday afternoon (for truck arrival and registration) and from Sunday morning, with activities continuing until late at night.
