Palio dell'Assunta

The 2026 edition of the Palio dell'Assunta confirms Lugnano in Teverina's appointment with the grand medieval re-enactment linked to the patronal festivities of Santa Maria Assunta. As per tradition, the event focuses between late July and the first week of August, officially concluding on August 14 with the Offering of the Candle to the altar of the Assumption by the Municipality.

The four districts - Turris, Lapis in Gloria, Logge, and Campum Florum - return to compete in archery for the silver ring, amidst processions, knight investitures, musicians' challenges, and performances by flag-wavers, fire-eaters, and jugglers. • August 14 — Offering of the Candle to the altar of Santa Maria Assunta

The re-enactment is accompanied by flag-wavers, fire-eaters, historical dancers, and jugglers.

How to get there

Lugnano in Teverina is located in the province of Terni, in the Tiber valley, a short distance from Amelia and Orte. It can be reached by car from the A1 motorway (Orte exit) or from the Orte-Civitavecchia dual carriageway.
