The September Rematch
The Ring Race - The Rematch is the autumn edition of the famous joust of Narni, in the province of Terni. Introduced in 2017, it doubles the medieval re-enactment event: in September, the three Terzieri – Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria – return to compete for the Palio at the Campo de li Giochi, giving the districts defeated in spring a chance for redemption.
Ten Days of the Middle Ages
Like the May race, The Rematch unfolds over about ten days with historical parades, religious rites, exhibitions, concerts, shows, and gastronomic activities in the Terzieri taverns. The festival is dedicated to the Madonna Assunta and includes a joint blessing in the Cathedral, with a sacred representation, before the final equestrian competition.
Living History, Twice a Year
For Narni, La Rivincita is much more than a repeat: it is a second chapter of the city's great identity festival, allowing visitors to experience the medieval atmosphere even in autumn, when the Umbrian village dresses up in 14th-century costumes.
The Rematch — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Ring Race - The Rematch is expected in Narni in September, as per established tradition (historically around the second half of the month, for about ten days). The three Terzieri – Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria – return to compete at the Campo de li Giochi for redemption on the result of the spring race.
At the time of writing, the exact dates and the full calendar for the 2026 edition have not yet been released by the Associazione Corsa all'Anello.

The detailed programme for the 2026 Rematch has not yet been published. The usual structure includes, over about ten days in September:
- Opening of the Terzieri taverns and medieval markets
- Exhibitions, concerts, shows, and performances in the historic centre
- Religious rites in honour of the Madonna Assunta, with a joint blessing in the Cathedral and a sacred representation
- Historical parade in 14th-century costume
- Final equestrian joust at the Campo de li Giochi between the Terzieri of Mezule, Fraporta and Santa Maria
