The Paganella Rally and the Cavedago Special Stage

The Paganella Rally is the premier automotive event in northern Trentino-Alto Adige, based in Andalo with a route winding across the Paganella Plateau and Val di Non. Among the most anticipated stages is the Cavedago – Fai della Paganella, which runs through the heart of the Municipality of Cavedago, a small mountain village in the Autonomous Province of Trento perched at an altitude of approximately 864 meters. During the race, the village's usually quiet streets become the stage for one of the most technical and driver-favorite timed sections.

A young but firmly established event

Launched in 2024, the Paganella Rally has quickly secured a permanent spot on the Trentino rally calendar. The race, valid for the 4th Zone Rally Cup, effectively kicks off the plateau's motorsport season and involves an entire geographical area: in addition to Cavedago and Fai della Paganella, the route touches the municipalities of Andalo, Molveno, Spormaggiore, Sporminore, Campodenno, and Ton. The stage named after Cavedago is a decisive leg for the standings, often featuring a night version with a dramatic finish in the center of Andalo.

The special stages

The format includes a series of special stages repeated throughout the weekend, alternating between sections in Val di Non and on the Paganella Plateau:

• Cavedago – Fai della Paganella: the stage passing through Cavedago, approximately 8 kilometers long, ending with hairpins towards Andalo.
• Ton: developed on the orographic left of the Noce river, between Masi di Vigo, Vigo di Ton, and Toss.
• Campodenno – Sporminore: the longest stage, about 13.5 kilometers, starting at the gates of Quetta.

Crews tackle these stages multiple times over the two days, with regrouping areas in Spormaggiore, Andalo, and on the shores of Lake Molveno.

A rally in the heart of the Dolomites

What makes the Paganella Rally unique is its setting: mountains, forests, and alpine lakes provide the backdrop for the competition, combining sporting spectacle with the discovery of a fascinating tourist destination. For Cavedago and the other small towns involved, the event is also a popular festival, with locals and fans lining the roadsides to cheer on the crews. The race is open to both modern and historic cars, with a dedicated section for female crews.

Organization

The event is organized by TT Corse A.S.D., based in Andalo, in collaboration with Scuderia Trentina. The event is supported by the municipal administrations of the plateau and Val di Non, whose cooperation is essential for road closures and safety management along the route.
