Urban music, sports, and street culture in Grottaglie
The Outside Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the Southern Italian urban scene. Every year at the end of May, the festival brings an intense day of music, sports, and street culture to Grottaglie, the famous city of ceramics in the province of Taranto. The festival's motto, "Made by Outsiders for Outsiders," perfectly captures its spirit: a celebration of underground culture aimed at young people who identify with the world of rap, skate, graffiti, and street sports.
Launched in 2022, the Outside Festival has grown with every edition to become, as the organizers define it, "the most anticipated urban festival in the South." The event is conceived and produced by AWA Productions in collaboration with the AWA APS association, and it is supported by numerous partners, including the patronage of the Municipality of Grottaglie and Puglia Sounds, the Apulia Region's program dedicated to music.
The heart of the festival is the stage, where headliners from the Italian rap and trap scene alternate with emerging talents from the Apulian territory. But Outside is more than just a concert: a true creative ecosystem comes to life around the stage. The open-air area features:
The choice of Grottaglie is no coincidence. The town in the Taranto province, known throughout Italy for its historic ceramics district, is the perfect setting for a festival that makes the intersection of tradition and contemporary culture its hallmark. In a land as rich in identity as Apulia, the Outside Festival represents a rare landmark for the Southern urban scene, capable of attracting a young audience from all over the region and beyond.
With editions frequently selling out, the Outside Festival has established itself as a fundamental stop for those who love urban music and street culture. A day of energy that lasts from the afternoon until late at night, filled with beats, colors, and adrenaline.
The 5th edition of the Outside Festival brought one of the hottest and most beloved names in the Italian music scene to Grottaglie: Massimo Pericolo, the rapper from Brebbia who has been in the spotlight since 2019 with hit tracks like "7 miliardi" and "Stupido." The event, hosted for the first time on Viale dei Maratoneti, confirmed the festival's winning formula: live music, sports, visual arts, and street culture in one big day designed for the new generation.
Alongside the headliner, the stage showcased numerous emerging talents from the region, while the open-air area hosted sports disciplines, ceramics and craft markets, and a rich food area. The event, produced by AWA Productions with the patronage of the Municipality of Grottaglie and Puglia Sounds, once again saw a large turnout.

Tickets can be purchased online via Liveticket and TicketOne. The organizers recommend booking in advance, as editions often sell out.
Gates generally open at 5:00 PM, with the program continuing until late at night.
