Live music returns to the cliff
The Orvieto Sound Festival brings major live concerts back to the heart of Orvieto, in the Province of Terni, after a break. The setting is the spectacular Piazza del Popolo, which for some summer evenings transforms into an open-air stage overlooking the historic buildings of the Umbrian city.
An artistic direction of distinction
The artistic direction is entrusted to Pino Strabioli, a well-known face on Italian television and theatre, who has curated a program capable of intertwining singer-songwriters, song-theatre, and progressive rock. The stated goal of the Municipality of Orvieto is to combine artistic quality, diversity of offerings, and economic sustainability, with shows designed for different audiences.
Between big names and new talents
Alongside the most established stars of the Italian music scene, the festival also makes space for young artists, with an evening dedicated to emerging talent. Promoted by the Municipality of Orvieto together with Mea Concerti, the Orvieto Sound Festival aims to be a key summer event for the city and for the cultural tourism of the Orvieto area.
Orvieto Sound Festival — edition 2026
The Orvieto Sound Festival returns after a break with three evenings in Piazza del Popolo, from July 24th to 26th, 2026. The artistic direction is by Pino Strabioli; the event is promoted by the Municipality of Orvieto together with Mea Concerti.
Mayor Roberta Tardani emphasized that the festival focuses on "artistic quality, diversity of offerings, and economic sustainability." Tickets are on sale at TicketItalia and TicketOne.

Friday, July 24th
- Serena Rossi — "SereNata a Napoli", a tale of a city of a thousand contradictions, with a six-piece orchestra conducted by Maestro Valeriano Chiaravalle and costumes by Laura Biagiotti
Saturday, July 25th
- PFM - Premiata Forneria Marconi — "Doppia traccia" tour: one part dedicated to their greatest hits and a section "PFM canta De André", an homage to Fabrizio De André
Sunday, July 26th
- Evening dedicated to young artists (artist to be announced)

How to get there
Orvieto is on the Rome-Florence railway line (Orvieto Scalo station) and on the A1 motorway, Orvieto exit. The funicular connects the Scalo to the center on the cliff.
