The Oria beer festival, in the heart of the Brindisi Salento
Every year, at the beginning of July, Oria — the evocative City of Emperors in the province of Brindisi, Apulia — transforms into the Apulian capital of beer with the Oria Beer Festival. Originally a local gathering, the event has grown into one of the most anticipated food and wine festivals of the Salento summer, attracting thousands of visitors from across the Brindisi region and beyond.
The heart of the festival is, naturally, the beer: a wide and curated selection of craft and international beers, including gluten-free and non-alcoholic options to suit every palate. Accompanying the taps is a vibrant street food area featuring gourmet sandwiches, pizzas, fried snacks, and Apulian culinary specialties, served by stalls that liven up the event for its entire duration.
Beyond the beer, the Oria Beer Festival is all about music and entertainment. Every evening, the stage hosts live concerts, cover bands, and DJ sets, with animation and dancers from the historic Apulian station Ciccio Riccio. The traditional folk music of Salento is also a staple, with the pizzica keeping the square dancing until late at night. The atmosphere is that of a grand Southern summer festival: joyful, engaging, and suitable for all ages, from families with children to groups of friends.
The event takes place in Contrada Salinelle, Oria, featuring large outdoor spaces, food stalls, a concert area, and parking for visitors. The event opens in the evening and admission is free: you only pay for what you consume at the stalls. It is the perfect opportunity to discover Oria, its medieval historic center, the famous Swabian Castle, and the Jewish quarter, combining a city visit with the conviviality of an evening of beer and music.
Part of the Oria Estate calendar, the Oria Beer Festival is one of the season's flagship events, a moment of shared celebration that highlights the local area and its traditions. Between the aroma of fresh beer, the notes of the pizzica, and the lights of the historic center, the festival has become an unmissable classic for anyone spending their summer in Salento.
From July 3 to 5, 2026, the Oria Beer Festival returned to enliven the Contrada Salinelle in Oria with its usual formula of beer, food, and music. Three evenings with free admission that confirmed the festival as one of the most beloved events of the Brindisi summer, featuring quality taps, street food, and live shows.
The protagonist of Salento's folk tradition was the Pizzica dei Mustisci, while the atmosphere of the evenings was heated up by DJ sets and entertainment by Ciccio Riccio. Among the stalls, a wide selection of craft and international beers was available, including gluten-free and non-alcoholic options.
