OrchiDay, an orchid paradise in Mercenasco

Twice a year, the Peraga Garden Center in Mercenasco, located in the Canavese area of the Province of Turin, hosts OrchiDay, one of Italy's most significant orchid exhibitions. For one weekend, the 12,000 square meters of the garden center, situated a few kilometers from Ivrea and on the outskirts of Turin, become an authentic sensory garden where visitors can admire thousands of specimens from all over the world.

A journey through thousands of orchids

The event brings together hundreds of different species and varieties: ranging from famous hybrids to botanical rarities highly prized by collectors, as well as delicate miniature orchids and micro-orchids no larger than a centimeter. Each edition also showcases numerous rare specimens of various species, making OrchiDay a true living encyclopedia of the orchid world.

The heart of the event lies in the specialized nurseries arriving from across Italy and abroad. Historical exhibitors include names such as Orchideria di Morosolo, Varesina Orchidee, Il Sughereto, Celandroni Orchidee, Piante Pazze by Marco Toffoletti, and international producers like Carmen Apolo Ecuadorquideas.
