The event takes place in June across the towns overlooking Lake Orta, with the logistics hub and finish lines concentrated at Lido di Gozzano, in the municipality of Gozzano, Province of Novara. It is one of the most fascinating stops on the entire Oceanman circuit, blending athletic challenge with the scenic beauty of the Cusio region.
A natural amphitheater among the mountains
Lake Orta, also known as Cusio, is a body of water nestled among the hills of northern Piedmont, dominated by the island of San Giulio and overlooking the village of Orta San Giulio. Swimming in these waters means traversing one of the most poetic and least touristy spots among the great pre-Alpine lakes. The water temperature, averaging around 19°C during the race period, and the natural setting make this leg a favorite among circuit swimmers.
Distances and races
Oceanman Lake Orta offers various challenges designed for every level, from experienced competitors to families:
- Oceanman — the longest and most demanding distance, starting from the Omegna area and finishing at Lido di Gozzano.
- Half Oceanman — the middle distance, starting from the Pella area.
- Sprint — the shortest race, ideal for those new to open-water swimming, starting near Orta San Giulio.
- Oceankids — the 500-meter race dedicated to children, held at Lido di Gozzano.
- Oceanteams — the 3×500 meter team relay.

The Lake Orta stage brings swimmers from dozens of different nations to the shores of the Cusio, transforming Gozzano and neighboring towns into a global hub for aquatic sports for a weekend. The Oceanman Village, set up at Lido di Gozzano, is the heart of the event, hosting registrations, athlete gatherings, award ceremonies, and festivities. Medical services, refreshment points, water safety, and time limits are guaranteed for every race, along with organized transport, shuttles, and boats to reach the various starting points along the lake.

Oceanman Lake Orta — edition 2026
L'edizione 2026 di Oceanman Lago d'Orta ha confermato il format ormai consolidato della tappa, articolata su tre giornate dal 12 al 14 giugno 2026 tra Omegna, Pella, Orta San Giulio e Gozzano (NO). Il fine settimana ha proposto l'intero ventaglio di prove del circuito Oceanman, con le gare giovanili e a squadre e le competizioni individuali sulle distanze lunghe.
Come ogni anno, l'Oceanman Village al Lido di Gozzano ha fatto da quartier generale dell'evento, ospitando iscrizioni, ritrovo degli atleti, ristori e premiazioni in un'atmosfera internazionale.

Le prove in programma
L'edizione 2026 ha riproposto le distanze classiche del circuito Oceanman sul Lago d'Orta, con le gare giovanili e la staffetta nella prima parte della manifestazione e le prove individuali nelle giornate centrali:
- Oceanman — la distanza lunga, con partenza dalla zona di Omegna e arrivo al Lido di Gozzano.
- Half Oceanman — la mezza distanza, con partenza dall'area di Pella.
- Sprint — la prova breve, con partenza nei pressi di Orta San Giulio.
- Oceankids — la gara da 500 metri per i più piccoli, al Lido di Gozzano.
- Oceanteams — la staffetta a squadre 3×500 metri.

Practical information — Oceanman Lake Orta
How to get there
Lido di Gozzano, home to the Oceanman Village and all finish lines, is located at Via alla Colonia 17 in Gozzano (NO). By car, it can be reached via the A26 motorway (Gravellona Toce or Borgomanero exit), following signs for Lake Orta. By train, the reference station is Gozzano, on the Novara-Domodossola line. The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Milan Bergamo (BGY).
Registration
Race registration is done online via the official Oceanman platform and partner portals. Fees vary based on the chosen distance and category. At the time of registration, you can also book shuttles and boats to reach the starting points.
Tips
A wetsuit is optional, while a safety buoy is mandatory for all participants. It is recommended to arrive early for bib collection and to consult the official Race Book for updated schedules, time limits, and regulations.
