The Walser craft market in the historic centre of Gressoney-La-Trinité
The name says it all about its soul: Oberteil Märt is an expression from the German-speaking Walser dialect spoken in Gressoney, and it indicates the market of the upper part of the village. This event brings a market entirely dedicated to traditional crafts and local products to the pedestrian historic centre of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
Among the stone and wooden houses of the village, local artisans display the best of their production:
The Oberteil Märt is above all an opportunity to experience the centre of Gressoney-La-Trinité at a relaxed pace, strolling through the stalls in the pedestrian area, discovering the know-how of the valley's artisans, and taking home an authentic gift idea. An event that tells the identity of the Walser community of the upper Lys Valley, in the province of Aosta, through tradition, craftsmanship, and typical products.
The 2026 edition of the Oberteil Märt takes place on Tuesday, June 16, from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, in the pedestrian historic centre of Gressoney-La-Trinité.
The stalls offer the best of traditional crafts: carved and turned wooden objects, sculptures, basketry, handmade toys, and local food products. A day to stroll among the Walser houses and discover the artisan tradition of the Aosta Valley. Free admission.
Gressoney-La-Trinité can be reached from Pont-Saint-Martin by going up the Lys Valley along the SR44. The market is held in the pedestrian historic centre of the village.
Municipality of Gressoney-La-Trinité, tel. +39 0125 366137. Free admission.
