The charity spring fair that brings Piazza Risorgimento in Quarrata to life
The OAMI Fair is one of the most deeply rooted events in the calendar of Quarrata, a lively town in the Province of Pistoia, Tuscany, known throughout Italy for its craftsmanship in upholstered furniture. For over three decades, on the first Sunday after Easter, the fair has drawn thousands of visitors to Piazza Risorgimento, marking the arrival of spring and the return of outdoor life after winter.
For an entire day, from 8 am to 8 pm, the center of Quarrata comes alive with over forty stalls featuring both food and non-food items. Exhibitors and vendors arrive from all over Tuscany and other Italian regions, offering an assortment that ranges from:
Strolling through the stalls is the best way to soak up the authentic atmosphere of a Tuscan village fair, where commerce intertwines with conviviality and the quintessentially Italian habit of gathering in the piazza.
What makes this event special is its bond with the OAMI Center of Quarrata. OAMI stands for Opera Assistenza Malati Impediti (Work for the Assistance of the Impaired), an organization founded to provide care and support to people with disabilities through a family-home model. The fair, organized by the Municipality of Quarrata in collaboration with the local OAMI Association, was created specifically to support the center's activities: participating means making a small gesture of solidarity toward the community.
Over the years, the OAMI Fair has enjoyed significant success: in some editions, the number of stalls has exceeded eighty, extending beyond Piazza Risorgimento to the surrounding streets. The event thus confirms its role as a benchmark for street commerce and leisure in the Montalbano area.
The OAMI Fair is perfect for those who love traditional markets, families looking for a day outdoors, and anyone wishing to discover Quarrata and its surroundings in a festive setting. Admission is free, and its timing during the Easter season makes it an ideal opportunity to combine a spring trip to Tuscany with a stroll through the stalls.
The 2026 edition of the OAMI Fair, the thirty-first, was held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, the first Sunday after Easter, according to the usual tradition. The event brought Piazza Risorgimento in Quarrata to life from 8 am to 8 pm.
Promoted by the Productive Activities, Agriculture and Tourism Service of the Municipality of Quarrata, the fair hosted over forty stalls featuring food and non-food items, with exhibitors arriving from all over Tuscany and other Italian regions. Admission was free, with the usual goal of supporting the activities of the OAMI Center of Quarrata.
