The Nuova Florida Half Marathon is one of the most cherished running events in the Ardea area, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio. Created to bring life to the vibrant Nuova Florida district, the event has built a loyal community of participants over the years, becoming a classic fixture on the early summer running calendar in Lazio. The start is set in Largo Milano, at the corner of Via Florida, the beating heart of the neighborhood.

Two races, one shared spirit

The event offers two different ways to participate, both united by the same festive spirit:

• 9.6 km competitive race: a city circuit run over multiple laps, valid for FIDAL members and Runcard holders, with prizes for the top finishers and the largest sports clubs.
• Trofeo dell'Amicizia: a non-competitive 4.8 km fun run and walk, truly open to everyone—families, children, walkers, and enthusiasts—designed to share the joy of being together outdoors.

Sport and solidarity

The hallmark of the Half Marathon is its charitable purpose: after covering organizational costs, all proceeds from the event are donated to charity. Running or walking in Nuova Florida means not only challenging yourself but also supporting a good cause, in the friendly atmosphere that has always defined the event.

Organization and territory

The event is organized by the Atlantis Cultural Association in collaboration with Polisportiva Nuova Florida, with the involvement of the local running community. Ardea, overlooking the coast south of Rome, provides the ideal setting for an evening run: the late afternoon start allows participants to run during the cooler hours of the summer day, through neighborhood streets transformed into a race course for the occasion.

More than just a race, the Nuova Florida Half Marathon is a moment of connection for the neighborhood and the entire Ardea territory. Between competitive runners, families out for a walk, and volunteers, the evening offers the warm atmosphere of a local village festival, where sport becomes an opportunity for meeting and solidarity.
