NOVIAMO Spring Festival

A spring festival in the heart of Bassa modenese

The NOVIAMO Spring Festival is the event that inaugurates the beautiful season in Novi di Modena, a municipality in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna, in the Bassa modenese plain a few kilometers from Carpi. The event takes place at the Parco della Resistenza, the green lung of the town, and is organized by the Pro Loco "Adriano Boccaletti" with the patronage of the Municipality of Novi di Modena.

More than a simple local festival, NOVIAMO is a community celebration that celebrates the so-called "second spring": an idea of rebirth and renewed sociality that speaks directly to the identity of a territory marked by the 2012 earthquake and capable of rising again. The festival brings together music, sport, wellness, culture, and good food in a program designed primarily for families.

A two-day program

The festival unfolds over a weekend that alternates daytime moments dedicated to the little ones with evenings animated by music and entertainment. Among the recurring proposals:

• Live music: the concert by the Young Wind Band, the local youth band, opens Saturday evening;
• Evening DJ sets to keep the park dancing until late at night;
• Sport and wellness: free trial sessions of metabolic walking and hatha yoga, by registration;
• "Terre d'Argine" bike ride, a group ride through the Novi countryside;
• Entertainment for children: games, art workshops, exhibitions, and displays by "artists of ingenuity";
• Attractions such as the mechanical bull rodeo and evening entertainment;
• Food stalls with the flavors of Modenese tradition and country dancing.

Flavors and Emilian tradition

As with any self-respecting festival in Emilia, gastronomy also plays a leading role at NOVIAMO. The food stalls accompany the public throughout the days, offering the opportunity to taste the typical dishes of the Bassa modenese in a convivial and family atmosphere. The park thus transforms into a large outdoor dining area where music, sport, and good food intertwine.

An event for the whole community

Also supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carpi, the NOVIAMO Spring Festival is the result of the work of Pro Loco volunteers and represents one of the main gathering moments in Novi di Modena. Admission to the festival areas is free; some sports and wellness activities require free registration. An event that enhances the bond between the town and its territory and invites residents and visitors to experience the arrival of spring together.
