About Sapori d'Autunno

Between late October and early November, Pietrapertosa hosts Sapori d'Autunno, the most anticipated food and wine event in the Lucanian Dolomites. Chestnuts, mushrooms, and typical Lucanian products are combined with concerts, fire shows, trekking, and craft demonstrations, enlivening the alleys of the highest village in Basilicata.

Lucanian Autumn Amidst Scents and Traditions

When the woods of the Lucanian Dolomites turn red and gold, the village of Pietrapertosa celebrates Sapori d'Autunno, one of the most beloved food and wine events in the hinterland of the Province of Potenza. For a few days, between late October and early November, the alleys and squares of the village fill with stalls, scents, and music.

Flavours of the Territory

The absolute protagonists are the typical autumn products of Basilicata: chestnuts, mushrooms, cheeses, cured meats, and traditional sweets. During the main days, live demonstrations of handmade pasta making, the "V'scuott r zit" (the traditional biscuit), and mozzarella production take place, along with wood carving and ancient soap-making techniques: a journey into Lucanian peasant and artisan culture.

Music, Shows, and Nature

Sapori d'Autunno is not just about gastronomy: the program alternates live concerts, fire shows, street artist performances, and evening DJ sets. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are trekking excursions to discover the trails of the Lucanian Dolomites, in one of the most spectacular natural settings in Southern Italy.

A Village Among the Most Beautiful in Italy

Included among The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, Pietrapertosa offers a unique setting to experience the festival: stone houses clinging to the rock, breathtaking views, and the warm welcome of the community make Sapori d'Autunno an unmissable autumn event in Lucania.

Sapori d'Autunno — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Sapori d'Autunno is scheduled between late October and early November in Pietrapertosa. The event renews its appointment with chestnuts, mushrooms, and typical Lucanian products, accompanied by concerts, shows, trekking, and craft demonstrations in the village of the Lucanian Dolomites. Precise dates will be confirmed by the organizers.

For 2026, Sapori d'Autunno returns to Pietrapertosa between late October and early November, during the traditional period around the All Saints' Day holiday. The event, one of the most anticipated in the Lucanian Dolomites, confirms its formula that combines food and wine, music, and nature.

The precise dates for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Municipality of Pietrapertosa in the weeks preceding the event. Based on recent editions, the festival typically spans three days with food stalls, evening concerts, fire shows, guided treks, and demonstrations of ancient crafts.
