Erchie's white night featuring taranta, street art, and the flavors of Salento
The Notte Ercolana is the most anticipated summer event in Erchie, a small town in the Province of Brindisi in the heart of the Salento region, Puglia. It is a true white night: for an entire evening, the historic center stays illuminated and lively, with performances, music, and stalls spread across Piazza Umberto I, the town streets, and the courtyards of historic palaces. The event is organized by the municipal administration of Erchie in collaboration with the local Pro Loco, and over the years, it has become a landmark of the Salento summer.
The common thread of Notte Ercolana is the folk music of Salento, with pizzica and taranta taking center stage during the evening concerts, accompanied by bands, DJ sets, and musical groups performing at various locations simultaneously. The evening alternates between the main concert in the square and street art performances: juggling, aerial acrobatics, tightrope walking, magic, giant bubbles, aerial dance, and mesmerizing fire shows turn every corner of the town into a small, distributed theater.
Ample space is dedicated to local food and wine, with tasting trails and stalls managed by local wineries and associations, where visitors can sample wines, typical products, and traditional Apulian specialties. Craft markets line the streets of the center, while historic palaces host art exhibitions and Erchie's places of worship open their doors for guided tours.
Notte Ercolana is also designed for the little ones, with dedicated children's areas, inflatable games, face painting, and entertainment. Admission is free, and the atmosphere is that of a typical large Apulian village festival: convivial, popular, and open to everyone—locals and visitors alike who flock to Erchie every summer to experience a night of celebration in Salento.
The 2026 edition of Notte Ercolana will take place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, in Erchie, in the Province of Brindisi. The date has been made official by the Municipality of Erchie, which, together with the Pro Loco, has launched a public notice to collect proposals for cultural, artistic, sporting, cinematic, and promotional initiatives that will make up the evening's lineup.
As per tradition, the white night will bring concerts, street performances, tastings of typical Apulian products, and craft markets to the historic center, with free admission.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including the main concert, street performers, and schedules, will be announced by the Municipality of Erchie and the Pro Loco in the weeks leading up to the event on August 1st, 2026. The confirmed structure includes folk music, street art performances, food and wine areas, and craft markets distributed throughout the historic center.
