The spring music festival in the Nebrodi village, set between Castello Branciforti and the most evocative corners of Raccuja.
Every spring, the village of Raccuja, a small town in the province of Messina nestled in the heart of the Nebrodi mountains, comes alive with Note di Primavera, a music festival that has successfully built a distinct and recognizable identity over the years. Conceived in 2015 by Maestro Antonio Leone, artistic director of the "C. Spanò" Concert Band, the event stems from a desire to go beyond the traditional brass band repertoire and offer the public an opportunity to discover and appreciate a variety of musical genres.
The heart of the festival is the evocative Castello Branciforti, an ancient residence that overlooks the village and serves as the setting for most of the concerts. Special attention is paid to selecting the most characteristic locations in the area to highlight their beauty and create a harmonious bond between music and the environment. This is the hallmark of Note di Primavera: intimate concerts where every sonic nuance gains importance through the mutual listening between performers and the audience.
The program features a series of events that traverse diverse musical seasons: from clarinet and piano duos to chamber music ensembles, and from acclaimed jazz to popular Mediterranean sounds. Over the years, the festival has hosted prominent ensembles and artists, forging collaborations with local musical entities and bringing talent to Raccuja capable of blending artistic quality with audience engagement.
Organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Raccuja, Note di Primavera has grown to become part of a cultural enhancement path that also looks toward national and European funding circuits. More than just a concert season, the festival has become a highly anticipated event that tells the story of inland Sicily and the Nebrodi through music, offering residents and visitors another reason to discover an authentic village far from the beaten tourist paths.
The 2026 edition of Note di Primavera marks twelve years of the festival and is part of a new growth path, built with the Municipality of Raccuja and aimed at integration into national and European funding circuits (MiC and Next Generation EU). Four concerts, from May to June, animate the Nebrodi village and its Castello Branciforti.
Among the headliners are saxophonist Francesco Cafiso and singer-songwriter Lello Analfino with the T Orkestar, who will close the festival.
Concerts are primarily held at Castello Branciforti in Raccuja (ME), in the heart of the Nebrodi. Some events may take place in other characteristic locations around the village.
Raccuja can be reached by car from the A20 Messina–Palermo motorway (taking the Tyrrhenian coast exits, such as Brolo or Patti) and heading inland toward the Nebrodi. The nearest train station is on the Tyrrhenian line along the coast; from the station, you can continue by car or local connections to the village.
The festival is organized by the "C. Spanò" Concert Band with the patronage of the Municipality of Raccuja, under the artistic direction of Maestro Antonio Leone.
