Rice with Walnuts, the Soul of Nogara

The Festa del Riso co' le Nose is the most representative food and wine event in Nogara, a municipality in the Bassa Veronese area of the province of Verona. For decades, it has celebrated the town's signature dish: Vialone Nano Veronese IGP rice cooked 'co' le nose', meaning with walnuts, along with gorgonzola and mascarpone, in a creamy and delicious combination that has become a symbol of local cuisine.

Many Kitchens and Dozens of Dishes

The fair takes place at the Area Expo, featuring a large covered structure and an outdoor garden. Various kitchens offer a rich menu — with dozens of dishes — centered on Vialone Nano rice, presented in numerous recipes that blend Veronese and Mantuan traditions, between classic interpretations and modern reinterpretations. Vialone Nano is the typical rice from the paddy fields of the Veronese plain, where spring water creates ideal conditions for this historic cultivation.

Shows and Conviviality

Beyond the food, the Festa del Riso co' le Nose offers evenings of comedy, music, and dancing, accompanying the numerous festival days. Organized by Nogara Eventi, the event is one of the most anticipated of the year for Nogara and the Bassa Veronese, capable of attracting visitors from all over the province around its signature dish.
