Four days of food trucks, culinary specialties, and live music in Piazza Diaz
For the first time, the Street Food Festival brings the traveling format of the I love truck in Sud association to Nocera Inferiore, in the province of Salerno. For four days, a caravan of food trucks and mobile kitchens will occupy Piazza Armando Diaz, the urban living room located right in front of the Town Hall. The square will be transformed into a vibrant open-air village, with food stalls arranged along the perimeter, a central area for the public, and a stage for live music.
The choice of Nocera Inferiore is no coincidence: the city is the de facto capital of the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, one of the most iconic agricultural areas in Campania, home to the San Marzano tomato and a crossroads of trade and flavors between Naples and the Sarno plain. Bringing a festival dedicated to street food here means connecting with an audience that has a long-standing tradition of eating outdoors.
The event features a diverse range of offerings: alongside Southern specialties, there are dishes from other Italian regions and abroad, creating a varied tasting journey to suit every palate. Highlights announced by the organizers include:
Each truck operates independently with its own menu and pricing: you purchase directly at the stand, with no entry fee or minimum consumption required. It follows the classic street festival logic, where you build your own menu as you wander from one stall to the next.
The four evenings are about more than just gastronomy. The program features live cover bands, one for each night, providing a soundtrack of popular and danceable hits. Next to the stage, an animation area with a scenic cube offers entertainment designed for families and children. The organizers' stated goal is to showcase the excellence of Campania, combining the appeal of street food with a festive city atmosphere.
The 'I love truck in Sud' association, chaired by Alan Principio, has brought this same format to various towns in Campania and Southern Italy, including Caserta, Ariano Irpino, Acerra, Polla, Baiano, and Telese Terme. The Nocera stop, held with the patronage of the Municipality of Nocera Inferiore, marks the festival's debut in one of the most populous cities in the province of Salerno, adding to an already rich calendar of food and wine events in Piazza Diaz.
It is an event designed for local residents but easily accessible from Salerno, Naples, and the entire Amalfi Coast. You can walk from the station, stroll among the trucks, enjoy dinner outdoors on a summer evening, and stay to listen to the band. Free entry and evening hours make it a simple, informal choice for an outing with family or friends, with no need for reservations.
The festival stopped in Nocera Inferiore from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 21, 2026, occupying Piazza Armando Diaz for four days. It was the first time for the I love truck in Sud association in the leading city of the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese, following previous stops in Caserta, Ariano Irpino, Acerra, and Polla.
The square was set up as an open-air village: food trucks arranged along the perimeter, a scenic cube in the center, and a stage for music. The gastronomic offer alternated between scottona and Marchigiana beef burgers, Sicilian culinary specialties, and fried seafood 'cuoppo', accompanied by a selection of beers brought directly from Oktoberfest. Every evening, a live cover band performed, with entertainment designed for families as well.
Admission was free and open to everyone, with the patronage of the Municipality of Nocera Inferiore: visitors only paid for what they consumed at the individual stands.
Opening hours for individual stands were not released by the organizers: activity was concentrated in the late afternoon and evening.
