On July 5, 2026, at 9:30 PM, the evocative Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Brisighella, in the municipality of the same name in the province of Ravenna, welcomes the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. The event is part of the program for the XXXVII edition of the Ravenna Festival, the major event promoted by the Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni which every summer brings music, dance, and theater to numerous cities in Emilia-Romagna.

The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) is one of the most representative big bands on the US scene, an ambassador of the sound of the city that gave birth to jazz. Directed by Grammy Award-winning drummer and artistic director Adonis Rose, the orchestra boasts collaborations with artists of the caliber of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sheila E., and Stevie Wonder, as well as tributes to legendary figures like Aretha Franklin and John Coltrane.

Ravenna Festival 2026

The 2026 edition of the Ravenna Festival, titled Nacque al mondo un sole (A Sun Was Born into the World), is inspired by the figure of Saint Francis of Assisi and runs from June 21 to July 30, with an autumn extension. Over a hundred performances and a thousand artists animate Ravenna and the surrounding municipalities, including Brisighella, Cervia, Russi, and Lugo, confirming the widespread and international vocation of the event.
